"HIBAGON IS YOUR DAILY CUP OF MUD"

13th April 2017 It has been a long and tough ride but finally the circle is closed: Hibagon first proper LP “ POLYPOSMIC” is here. Useless to say that we’re super-pumped and can’t wait to melt your faces playing it live in front of every single one of you. Recorded and Mixed at Trai Studio by Fabio Intraina and Mastered at La Maestà Masetring by Giovanni Versari, the album features 40 minutes of the most beastly riffs and disassembled grooves you have ever heard: 12 tracks to lead your path behind the event horizon and back. Wooaargh, Taxi Driver Records, Il Verso del Cinghiale records, 5FeetUnder Records, GabuAsso, I Dischi del Minollo, Pied de biche, Brigante Records & Productions, La Fornace Dischi and Toten Schwan Records have decided to join Hibagon in his mission, so watch out because this time his tunes will be spread wider than ever. Stay tuned for tons of news to come, meanwhile, to delight your eyes while your ears are waiting, here’s the killer artwork by SoloMacello. RRRAAAWK! “Up in the sky, look: is it a polypus? Is it a polyrhythm? No, it’s polyposmic!”

HIBAGON is a heavy polyrhythmic act born in Bergamo (Italy). The duo channels the energy of the straightforward guitar & drums formula into irregular textures, bringing it back to the listener in geometric and distorted frames.

"..Polyposmic is a fun experience when it comes to math metal. In its run time the album offers quite a lot to hear. It’s math technicality isn’t overbearing or extreme, but makes for a great gateway to explore the genre even further. As a debut record, Hibagon have demonstrated a promising treat that is both very enjoyable, and continues to keep the listener guessing..."
[new noise magazine]

"..Italian experimental progressive rock outfit Hibagọn just released their debut album, after two previous EPs in which they solidified their sound and personality. At forty minutes long, Polyposmic brings us a healthy dose of the mathematic prog duo. Focusing on fast-paced odd-time signatures, polyrhythms, and dissonant intervals, the creature by the name of Hibagọn is able to outdo its previous achievements. With the help of various effect pedals, guitarist Dowi is able to make us forget the fact that there is no bassist or complementary guitarist or keyboardist (except on ‘Orogenesis’ and ‘Zero’). Polyposmic is a fun time and a worthy challenge, all at once, and I didn’t expect any less from this cryptid. Do yourself a favour, and press play already!.."
